Shades Systems supplied and installed aluminium louvered pergola car parking shades for China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) during Phase 2 of the Roshn Sedra 2 residential development in Riyadh. Designed for community parking at scale, the completed system brings together dependable vehicle protection and an architectural finish suited to the contemporary streetscape of this PIF-backed giga-project.
Closely spaced aluminium louvers create a controlled pattern of shade across the parking bays while allowing air to move through the roof plane. This balance helps reduce direct solar exposure without creating the enclosed appearance of a solid canopy. The crisp horizontal blades, dark powder-coated finish, and disciplined structural grid complement the surrounding residential buildings and provide a refined pergola character.
The louver assemblies are carried by an engineered steel structure designed for the site geometry and Riyadh wind loads. Member sizes, connections, blade spacing, drainage behavior, vehicle clearances, and installation sequencing were coordinated to support safe long-term service. The powder-coated external finish was selected for durability under intense sun, dust, and seasonal temperature changes.
