Al-Bawadi Souq Aluminium Pergolas & Canopies
Modern aluminium pergolas revitalizing the outdoor retail experience at a bustling Jeddah market.
Traditional markets are evolving to offer modern comforts without losing their cultural essence. Al-Bawadi Souq, a popular retail destination in Jeddah, sought to revitalize its outdoor pedestrian corridors and central seating areas. Shades Systems was contracted to design and install a mix of modern shading solutions.
We installed high-end aluminium louvre pergolas over the main seating zones, allowing precise control over sunlight and airflow. For the winding pedestrian corridors, dynamic shade sails were deployed to provide continuous coverage while maintaining an open-air atmosphere. The wood-look finish on the aluminium elements provided a traditional feel with the zero-maintenance durability required for a high-traffic public space, significantly boosting footfall during daytime hours.
